Alberta Foundation for the Arts
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) supports the arts in your community by acknowledging the power of creative activity to inspire minds, encourage expression, improve quality of life and contribute to the province’s economic prosperity. The AFA supports Alberta artists and art organizations by providing consulting support, grants and grant application advice.
The Community Initiatives Program provides funds to enhance and enrich community initiatives throughout Alberta. The program is intended to reinvest revenues generated from provincial lotteries in communities, to empower local citizens, and community organizations to work together and respond to local needs.
The Community Arts grant program invests in the quality of life in our city by providing funding for projects (could include short-term or permanent public art) that are described as collaborations between professional artists and a distinct community. (A community may be defined by a multitude of factors, including but not limited to, ethnicity, living conditions, geographic location, age, beliefs, traditions, social or economic strata).
New Horizons for Seniors Program
Grants of up to $25, 000 are available for community-based projects that focus on empowering seniors, encouraging them to share their knowledge, skills and experience with others in the community, and enhancing seniors' social well-being and community vitality. The Program provides grants and contributions funding for projects led or inspired by seniors who want to make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities.
